Zoe-perry

Perry is she is Chicago native born to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first roles on television were two appearances on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne which was played by her mom. Perry did not decide to explore acting as a profession until after she had reached adulthood because her parents were worried about the detrimental impact stress might be a cause of. Perry claims she never wanted to become an actor during high school, but she decided to begin performing as a form of social interaction while at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, moved to New York in search of television roles. Perry was able to land small roles on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness led her to California in search of theater jobs. She and her mother starred on Broadway as a couple in The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015 she performed alongside her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. In 2017, Perry had a minor role on ABC's thriller about politics Scandal which starred her father. The actress also portrayed her older Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon, a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. Despite having a family connection to the character she got the role via an audition.
